Raipur, May 12, 2026/
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of four members of a family caused by a short circuit and gas cylinder explosion in the Kumhari police station area of Durg district.
Chief Minister Shri Sai described the incident as “extremely heartbreaking and painful.” He said the tragedy has caused profound grief and anguish. Expressing heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members, he prayed for peace for the departed souls.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government stands firmly with the affected family during this difficult time. He has directed officials to ensure every possible assistance for the grieving family members.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has announced a special financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh each for the deceased person. This assistance will be provided in addition to the Rs. 4 lakh compensation already admissible under government provisions, bringing the total assistance of Rs. 9 lakh to the family for each deceased person.
The Chief Minister has also instructed the district administration to ensure proper arrangements for accommodation, food, and other essential support for the affected family members. He further directed officials to conduct a detailed investigation into the causes of the incident so that all facts related to the tragedy can be thoroughly examined.
