A significant meeting was held on Monday at Mahanadi Bhawan to strengthen industrial infrastructure and promote investment in Chhattisgarh. The Public Private Partnership Appraisal Committee (PPPAC) of the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC), under the Industries and Commerce Department, reviewed various projects during a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel.
*Major projects to be developed under PPP model*
The meeting held detailed discussions on infrastructure development across different sectors of the state through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. Key projects discussed included the development of a Transport Nagar in Bilaspur, construction of a state-of-the-art Convention Centre in Nava Raipur, development of new industrial areas at Dhamtari (Chhati) and Balodabazar (Chanderi), as well as construction of a commercial tower and flatted factory building in Bhilai.
*Focus on increasing investment and simplifying rules*
Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel directed officials to simplify regulations to accelerate industrial projects. He emphasised making procedures barrier-free to strengthen industrial infrastructure and attract greater investment in the state. Discussions were also held on improving and making industrial park allotment rules more transparent.
*Presentation and departmental participation*
During the meeting, Industries and Commerce Department Secretary Shri Rajat Kumar gave a detailed presentation on the current status and future action plan of PPP projects. Principal Secretary of the Law and Legislative Department Smt. Sushma Sawant, Finance Department Secretary Dr. Rohit Yadav, along with senior officials from CSIDC, Planning and Finance Departments, were also present at the review meeting.
